In this class, you will be embroidering on a continuous length of fabric to make a scroll that could be rolled up and kept as a memory of a special occasion or it could be hung as a long panel to display your skills. The embroideries worked will be a personal journey and will tell your own story or unique event. You could focus on a different subject each month where you use the technique being taught to produce a series of different embroideries each month. Whatever you choose to do, I will be on hand to help, support and guide you through your chosen topic. |

In this exciting monthly class, you will hand embroider your way through the front gate of a garden. Each month you will explore different stitches and new creative products to produce a bok of twelve scenes from inside your garden. Patterns will be available but you will be encouraged with my help to design and develop your own scenes which could be worked from your own garden photos or from your imagination. Topics covered will be the rockery, the veg patch, window boxes and hanging baskets, the pond and winters embrace to name but a few. Suitable for all levels. | 10 am to 4 pm |

This class is where you will be introduced printed backgrounds, painted surfaces, dyeing and many other fabric changing techniques to blend and enhance your machine embroidery skills. Machine embroidery is not just about thread, it is also about creating textured and innovative backgrounds to support the stitching. This class is where you will able to learn new techniques to create a base for your creative machine embroidery skills. |

Do you have some experience? Then this class will push you further to understand your sewing machine and its creative capabilities under your creative hands. You will look to grow your skills with new machine embroidery techniques whilst being encouraged to turn them into personal items, gifts and presentations. I will demonstrate and assist in teaching you how to put your own mark on your individual embroideries. |

Each month you will be taught a machine embroidery technique and produce a small item to make sure you are totally comfortable with the procedure. Goldwork (2 Day Mini-Course) Come along and learn or brush up on your gold work skills. You will be working on a golden book cover to fit a hard backed book of your choice. On the 1st session you will look at the book you are going to cover and you be shown how to work out a design to fit the book. You look at new techniques that you may not have tried before and you will continue at home to be ready for the 2nd session where you will assemble or discuss how to assemble your embroidery using beads and stitching. Several patterns will be provided but if you wish to have a go at designing your own pattern Kathleen will be on hand to help you with this. |

A Taste of India Come and have a go at block printing onto sheer fabrics. Overlay them onto organza fabrics and Lutradur. You will then stitch in the details before working reverse applique and using a soldering iron to decorate them and attached the blocks to each other to produce a textile wall hanging with a rich Indian flavour. |

Painted & Heat Zapped Mosaics On this workshop, you will be working with Lutradur and the rich colours of acrylic paint to make a panel that resembles a mosaic design. Once painted you will machine embroider into it and maybe add some organza and other materials that melt. Finally, you will apply heat in and around the painting to achieve that mosaic look. Patterns will be available but you are very welcome to get adventurous and work on your own design. |

If You Go Down to the Woods Today This is a contemporary workshop where you will create a piece of modern art from plastic and a laminator. You will produce a woodland scene that feels and looks like stained glass. Your sewing machine will be used to stitch in details and sheer fabrics will be incorporated to create the see-through feel to your modern woodland panel. |
